HAPPY NEW YEAR

Another boring day at work, so I though I'd update his page a little. I've added a nice subtle background image to some pages, normal white background didn't look that good.
I've also redone the menu so you can more easily find my Bio- and Thoughts-pages.
And by the way - HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know my friend Dazza over at NataliePortman.Com is going to anyway, he just hooked up with a Dane-babe and they really seem to have something going there. Way to go Darren!

CHRISTMAS

So how was your X-mas ? Mine was excellent. One more holiday with the family, predictable presents (the reason for that is 'cause a secret project coming up in January). I also got into a pretty deep debate about some big problems in the world today, and I just realised - I've got lots of bottled up opinions and stuff. So I'd thought I'd start sharing them with the rest of you!
The reason for that is not to brag about how deep and sensitive I can be. It's rather a way for me to start a debate, and hopefully someone will take the bait and disagree with me. I hate going around with weird opinions and, god forbid, incorrect information about something. So read it and please mail me your opinions!
The first topic I'll share my thoughts and opinions on with you is racism. I just saw "American History X", so....

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Now it's really X-mas time! But a very un-white X-mas it'll be, atleast here in Sweden. But today we (as in "our company") are going out for the annual X-mas lunch, lots of food, fun and some alcohol. I do have a history of having a bit too much fun at these lunches, but so what - that's what they are for, right?
Unfortuntely, I don't have any great quotes about Christmas, so I'll end this with a normal -

CHRISTMAS TIME

X-mas time! I love Christmas ! I JUST LOVE IT! Happy happy joy joy!! The best holiday of them all! :)
Anyway, I've updated my bio with pics and info about this years Beer festival that I went to with Eden (a fellow trekker and movie freak), my sis and her Paul, my father, Per (a friend from work) and his lovely girlfriend.
So how about another quote?

NOT JEWISH

Someone (less worthy to be called a person) called me "Jewish fucker" in my guestbook. First of all, I'd be happy to be called a "Jewish fucker" if I was Jewish (or sexually involved with one). But I'm not. I can only guess he called me that because of the recent quotes. The guy has obviously not read the book. If he had he would soon find it's not as much about the Germans mistreating Jewish people, but more about the classic scenario about one group of people suppressing another and the methods they used. And that's it.

And on that subject, here's another quote but this time from Marthin Luther King Jr.: "Freedom is never voluntarily given by the opressor; it must be demanded by the opressed."

SURVIVING AUSCHWITZ

Get ready for another deep quote from the Auschwitz book:

Sorry for the rough translation, best I could do. I've now updated my Natalie Portman fan-page with reviews to include all her movies (even some speculation about the SW movies). I've still some work to do with the Flash anims, don't know when I'll be inspired enough to do them. And tonight is the night of the MTV's European Music Awards show here in Stockholm. I'm not disappointed I won't be there - as far as I know there's only one reason to see it - MOBY !

PRIMO LEVI

Thought I'd share one of my favorite parts of the Primo Levi book:

BORED AGAIN

Still not much happening in my life. Does anyone have a more interesting life for sale?
Anyway, in lack of better things to do I redid my Natalie Portman page. AGAIN. I know, I know, it's the third time but this time it's better and nicer. I think so anyway.
Well, guess it's back to Primo Levi again... (depressing but still interesting!)

PRIMO LEVI

I've started reading a book by Primo Levi (1919 -> 1987) called "Survival in Auschwitz". And everyone who knows me are probably saying "Kris? READING A BOOK!?". I've only read two books (other than computer literature) in my entire life, so you better believe me when I say it's a book worth reading!
(and for those of you who are wondering, the other two books are "The Neverending Story" (by Michael Ende) and "The Fourth K" (by Mario Puzo)
I've also expanded my "member of" list to include Greenpeace. Do I even need to explain why ?
On a personal note - there was a "9th grade graduation 10th annivarsary reunion" in Nynäshamn last weekend. I had, by choice, forgotten all about it so I didn't bother to show up. To everyone who missed me - sorry! But let's face it, if anyone puts me in the same room as some of the people who helped making my early teens the living hell it was - they are asking for trouble.

Over at NataliePortman.Com we were discussing a song that used some samples from my favorite flic, "Leon". And now I've finally got the MP3 of Eric Serra's "Hey Little Angel"! My favorite actress in a song from one of my favorite musicians on the soundtrack to my favorite movie. How can I not LOVE IT?!

NOT MUCH HAPPENING

Ok, so what's happened since I last updated this page... not much. As usual! The free Guestbook that have worked so well isn't working at all anymore, so I had to go over to a new free guestbook service. Feel free to sign in!
My favorite Formula-1 driver, M. Schumacher, won the World Championship and I won 1.000 SEK since I knew he would :) Also updated my "Who am I?" page to make me look better. And it's not for show, I actually am a member of the Red Cross and Amnesty. Hope to expand that pretty soon but hey, I wanna enjoy my hard-earned money myself a little too!

BORED

I don't know if I'm that booring, but not much has happened in my life. The most exciting thing that's happened in recent days was when me and my sister, AC, went out in Stockholm for a movie ("Hollow Man", I'll give it a 4) and then to O'Learys sportsbar to see the Indianapolis Formula 1 race live. Quite an experience, it really beats sitting home alone watching F1. The mood was great, the food was great, the service was good, the race was excellent and the crowd was superb (and mostly Ferrari :)).

On a personal note, I'm now officially a staff-member of NataliePortman.com . Yeah baby! I'm in charge of the image gallery. Sounds easy right? You trying indexing, categorizing etc. over 2000 images.

PARTYING

Not much happening here. I was out partying with Henrik, Janne and Jocke again last satuday and ended up trying to get from one twilight zone (aka Brandbergen) to another (aka Lyngsta) at 6 am with a bit too much to drink. I finally got home at about 8.30 and soaking wet, but man did we have fun! The project to upgrade everything here to Flash is scrapped untill I get my hands on the new Flash 5, but I'll update bio and "about me" section.

NO UPDATES

I just realised I hadn't updated this for a while, so I thought I'd just leave a note here saying that I'm still alive and kicking! I'm also doing a Flash version of my domain. Most of it anyway, not the Star Trek pages since they are too big. But I'm working on it!

NATALIE AGAIN

The old Natalie Portman dedication wasn't good enough. So I did a new one :) This time the entire homepage is included in the Flash animation with a menu, and of course a song. This time it's one of the most beautiful songs ever - "Det Vackraste" by Cecilia Vennersten. It's in swedish but the music and her voice tells the story, not the lyrics. Anyway, check it out here.

THE CRUISE

I finally got a hold of the pics from our Finn-cruise. Unfortunately, due to a mishap the reel for the first day was unusable :( And that was the day when most of the funny things happened (like me+Åsa spontaneous version of "Living Next Door to Alice"). Anyway, you'll have to make do with the photos from "the day after". Check my bio for the pics.

X-MEN

The reason I haven't been writing anything here for a couple of weeks is because I had a very, VERY needed vacation. I didn't really do anything special during the vacation. Except helped out for the sci-fi congress in Stockholm. It turned out better than we thought, we got a preview of the new movie X-Men ! And this was on 7th July, before the US premiere and considering this is in Sweden it's quite a feat!

The movie was very well-made. And I've never really read any X-Men comics or anything so I had a little trouble with all the characters. But Anna Paquin has really grown into a babe!

UPDATES

Another very booring day at work... so I updated my biography page with more info about my family. Other than that, I'm still contemplating the fact that I'm not in Australia...

ME ON THE RADIO

Today I finally MP3 coded the radiointerview with me and Godzilla. It's about 10 MB big, but man was it fun making it! Check out my bio to read about this interview. Credits go to my sister who taped it.

EGO

I've gotten some complaints that I don't have any stuff or any interesting things on this site. Well I'm sorry, but this is "my very own domain", and mostly it contains info about me and some very few special others, so you can complain all you want, but this is my place.

So what's new in my life? Not much I'm afraid, trying to keep everything rolling at work. Other than that, Sweden was knocked out of the European Championship in soccer. Surprise? Not very... But on the upside, Schumacher won the Canadian Formula-1 GP :)

BUSY

Sorry I havn't written anything here in a while, but this time it's because I've been too busy. A week ago I got the honorable mission of redoing the natalieportman.com websites imagegallery. About 1500 pics, categorized and all with thumbnails and texts and everything, took a loooong time but now it's done and I've done my part for peace on Earth. You think?

STILL ABOUT NATALIE

I got a couple of "sure you know Nat's real name" letters. But now I can prove it. If you do a Yahoo search on her real name, "My Dedication to Natalie Portman" is the first page that will come up. During the very, very booring weekend I had I finished a Flash-anim dedication to Natalie. You can find that here. As I said, this weekend was very booring, but it was a long time ago that I had a weekend without any plans whatsoever (except the Monaco GP).

25!

Yeah, I'm finally 25 years old, or as my brother-in-law called me, "quarter of a century".  And this was a super slow day at work, let me tell you! Thank god for MP3 :)

I've started a small flash dedication to Natalie. Mostly I needed to learn the program, but I hope you'll like it. And speaking of Portman, the extended version of "Léon" is coming out on Region 1 DVD in august. YEAH!

NATALIE PORTMAN

Sorry I haven't written anything here, but you see.... nothings been happening in my life. I'VE GOT NO LIFE! Damn!

Anyways, tonight we're gonna party! We're going on Silja Festival boat to Åland for a 24 hour cruise and I'm probably gonna be sorry tomorrow morning. And another victory for the great Internet - a guy at work challenged me to find a bit of information on the net, specifically Natalies last name. Kris + Internet 1 point, and $50 bucks richer!

I know there's a big "invasion of privacy" issue involved in that undertaking, but to my defense I only used public databases, and also I'm a firm believer in "informations wants freedom". and the info stays with me! So no, don't ask for it. If I can do it so could you if you really care that much.

STILL BORED

After another very booring day at work I decided to make a nice little tribute to, what I consider to be, one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen, Natalie Portman (most famous for playing the Queen in SW Episode I, although I still think "Leon" is her best movie yet. Then again, I haven't seen her latest, "Where the Heart Is").
And when I say "beautiful", I not only mean that she's great looking, but almost everything I read or see about her is just... beautiful ! Don't know why I did it, I mean, she's never gonna see it and there are 100s of Natalie sites around, but it just felt like a nice thing to do.

BORED

Had a totally boring day at work, so I updated the menu and fixed the CSS. That's how boring this is.
If it wasn't for "Städdagen" wednesdays are way too BORING !

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

So Denmark won the Eurovision Song Contect 2000. Read the story about the song, "Fly on the Wings of Love". And do I agree with that guy or what, women are the most beautifull creation _ever_ ! All I have to do is walk into our reception at work to have that confirmed. Don't you just love women!!!!
(although I have the outmost respect for gays, I could _never_ be one...)

VISITING FRIENDS

Just got home from a weekend in Finspång, a countryside town in southern Sweden. Tomas van der Poll, a fellow trekker friend of mine, had a 31st birthday party. A very successfull party with lot's of eating and socializing. Thanx to Jenny, his wife, for the great food, and everyone who attended for the company. Especially Eva and Bosse for the ride over there.

I HATE FINLAND

It's official - I hate Finland ! Not only do they win Formula 1 all the time, nor is it enough to take Malin away from us but now they beat us in the quarter finals in the ice-hockey World Championship in S:t Petersburg! And I'm going there in two weeks, and I really hope I'll meet a nice finn for a change. But I wouldn't count on it.

GLEN KILLING

Our department at work was invited to go see the Glen Killing gang at Gran Hotel, something I really wanted to do. But something, or rather someone, came in the way of those plans and I had to cancel, which turned out to be a pretty good choice. Besides, I have a really hard time saying "no" to women.

MORE RADIO

I did another radio appearence today! Tomas Graneryd, radio host on Radio Stockholm, invited me to come over there and have a talk with Johan "Godzilla" from the TV show "Villa Medusa". If you're not Swedish or have Kanal 5 you probably don't know who he is, which is your loss. It was pretty fun, I'll post an MP3 recording of it as soon as I can.

MALIN

This was a day of mourning. One of the nicest women that I've ever met (who, somehow, was immune to all my attempts at getting a date), got a gig to work in Finland. Since her job here was just a part-time job she accepted and this was the last day I chatted with her and got to say goodbye. Now I really dislike Finland !
